When a new Task or WI is created, add ability to enter Tags. Allow defaults values, like email address, "Display Name", etc.3 votes
I would like to set parent links automatically. If we get a bug, in TFS, our policy is to link it under a Feature. Every time we get a bug submission, we have to manually link it to that Parent.
When we get a feature or enhancement, that goes under a different parent.4 votes
There is no way to filter or sort the result of a work item query by the flag unread/read.
I have a query which shows me all work items with the state Resolved, Compiled and Closed. When I would like to see all my items which got a new state e.g. Closed I have to scroll through a long list to find the items which a shown in bold letters.
It would be much more easier to find them when the unread flag is available in some way.3 votes
We have an program that submits an email to report bugs, feature requests, etc. I would like to be able to program a parser to take all text from a certain string. Ex.
FROM STRING = "Severity: " TO STRING "Frequency: " and copy all text in-between and write to one of the TFS fields. In this case, the Priority would be set to "3"
This would be great especially for severity and priority fields.
System: Your program
Steps to reproduce: 1) This 2) That
Result/Description: This happens.

I have Visual Studio 2015 installed and shouldn't require to install Team Explorer 2013 to run Team Companion.20 votes
This is an idea to see all the work items (at feedback or feature level) that are due on specific dates displayed in the Outlook calendar. At a glance, team members can see the number of items due on a specific date.1 vote
When we push to the search Work items and then opening page , Project information is automaticly filled. This must be empty for searching all the projects at all.1 vote
It would be nice if we could set up TeamCompanion on a shared mailbox we utilize as a team. Then as emails come in we could have it auto create work items based on various filters/criteria provided in the email.2 votes
At the moment you can use TC to flag an item in Outlook with a follow-up date/time. http://www.teamcompanion.com/blog/archive/2013/09/11/organize-your-schedule-around-tfs-work-items.aspx
However, this value is "implemented with Outlook infrastructure behind the scenes, connected only to the representation of the work item in that particular TeamCompanion query" and it not visible to TFS itself.
I think it would be really useful if this value can be mapped through to a TFS field, then it would be visible and queryable by all.1 vote
Many times I want to get notified of a change to a work items that I am not directly assigned to. I would like to have ability to create quick alerts by right clicking on the work items that I want to follow. It should also allow me to take an item off the alert list.6 votes
Right now you create a WI and then save it and then close it. Instead an option of 'Save and Close' would life much more easier.4 votes
When a WI is created from an email the given WI-ID should be written into the email, e.g. added to the title.
When a WI is created from an email the given WI-ID should be written into the email, e.g. added to the title. So it's getting much easier to follow what happend with emails from a bug-account that is manageged by many people.4 votes
Under Work Item(s) / Query Tab and Bulk Actions on ribbon can you impliment a Dropdown to Bulk change Iteration Path on Task.1 vote
Thank you for the idea.
Have you considered using the simple drag and drop action in the Plan and Prioritize part of the TeamCompanion for bulk changing the iteration path for the work items.
See more about the drag and drop support here: http://www.teamcompanion.com/features/agile_project_management_12/#156
Currently in 'Alert Subscriptions' area, the Alert column is pre-defined with some alerts. We would like to see more options in there such as when a work items goes from Resolved to Active or from Quality Review to Resolve state etc.4 votes
When attaching a mail to an existing WI - the default of find by Id should allow the user to press enter after typing a WI number
I have to type a number then then click find. it would be nice if the Enter key in the 'Find by Workitem' would be accepted and default to Find1 vote
When creating a new WI from Mail (or adding to an existing) it would be very helpful to add a category to the original email so I know that mail has already be handled.9 votes
In "Plan and Prioritize", you can see the "Selected Effort" in hours. It looks at the total time. I'd also like to see the actual total "Effort" from PBI and bugs.3 votes
Marc, Thank you for the suggestion. I have added it to the backlog. Best regards,
When I open a WI from an email, I want TeamCompanion to open a reply-all to the original email, including the new WI's TFS ID in the subject line, and a WI table that includes the new WI in the body.3 votes
